The Epicurean Charitable Foundation Las Vegas Now Accepting Applications
for Annual College Scholarships
Epicurean Charitable Foundation Las Vegas’ (ECFLV) Board of Directors announced today that the Foundation is actively seeking applicants for its annual college scholarship program. All Clark County senior high school students who are passionate about pursuing a career in the hospitality and culinary arts industries are encouraged to apply. Applications are available online at www.ecflv.org and must be submitted by March 5, 2010 to be considered for the scholarship award.
The Foundation awards each qualified high school student with up to $10,000 per year to cover tuition, books and fees to attend an accredited four-year college of their choice. Students must plan to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree in the hospitality or food and beverage programs. Each student must graduate with a cumulative grade point average of 2.75 and demonstrate the personal dedication and drive necessary to pursue a career in the hospitality industry, but lack the financial means to achieve their goals. In addition to financial support, award recipients also receive a mentor from within the Foundation’s ranks who will help provide students with constant guidance, internship and employment opportunities throughout the student’s college career.
The Foundation’s mission with the scholarship program is to aid worthy students in their endeavors and to create a pipeline of extraordinarily talented and professional individuals who will someday serve as the next generation of hospitality executives and leaders in their community. Since its inception, the Foundation has awarded over 30 academic scholarships to Clark County high school graduates.
