The Suncoast Hotel and Casino announces two new additions to its entertainment schedule for 2010—popular classic rock band Yellow Brick Road and the edgy and modern music act
Envy. Classic rock tribute band Yellow Brick Road performs hits from the ‘70s and ‘80s and has an established presence and fan base in the local music scene. Beginning January 6, the five-member band made up of Brody Dolyniuk, Brooke St. James, David St. John, Jonathan Gilcrest and James Sloan, will play the Suncoast Showroom on Wednesday evenings from 9 to 11 p.m.

The blog has decided that Dawn Gibbons deserves to be named "Heroine of the Year" for 2009! First of all having to endure the public humiliation of dealing with the end of her marriage in the public forum to living behind the Gubernatorial Mansion with just a table top burner to cook on, WRONG! Had Gov. Gibbons been a gentlemen he would of made sure that she was taken care of in a manner befitting her and help her keep her dignity. Sorry to say that I voted for the man and safe to say I will not again.

Waverly’s Steakhouse, Vino’s Restaurant and Cannery Row Buffet are celebrating New Year’s Eve with Frankie Avalon. Dinner starts at 7 p.m.
Waverly’s Steakhouse and Vino’s Restaurant dinner and a show special will feature a four-course meal and a ticket to see Frankie Avalon in concert for $79.95. All Entrees are served with a bacon cheddar Au gratin potato.
The appetizer consists of lobster bisque or country chicken soup. The featured salad is Waverly’s Chopped Salad with shrimp. Entrée choices are Roasted Strip Loin with Cabernet Wild Mushroom Demi; Shrimp Scampi over Jasmine Rice; or Lamb Chops with a Honey Rosemary Glaze. Dessert is Dark Chocolate cake with a Chocolate Mousse filling.
Cannery Row Buffet dinner and a show special will feature a New Year’s Eve Buffet and a ticket to see Frankie Avalon in concert for $59.95.
The New Year’s Eve Buffet will include a full seafood display with crab legs, shrimp cocktail, oysters on a half shell and white shell clams as well as a flambé station with shrimp scampi, sauté button mushrooms with cognac, scallops with vodka and garlic sauce, and seared chicken breast with champagne. The buffet will also feature over sixty hot items such as fresh roasted turkey, prime rib, oysters Rockefeller, tempura shrimp, fried fantail shrimp, and stuffed crab shells. It will also have authentic Mexican and Chinese stations along with a full salad bar and dessert station.
