Nine Days and Marcy Playground at VooDoo Beach for Summer Concert Series

Thursday, August 27

Rock band Nine Days and alternative rockers Marcy Playground.

Nine Days founded by John Hampson and Brian Desveaux (both provide vocals and guitar), along with Nick Dimichino (bass), Vincent Tattanelli (drums) and Jeremy Dean (keyboard) gained success with the release of their first mainstream debut album “The Maddening Crowd” in 2000. Chart toppers included “Absolutely (Story of a Girl) and “If I Am.” Currently the group is touring, working on a new album titled “Slow Motion Life (Part Two), a follow up to their most recent album from 2007, “Slow Motion Life (Part One)” and working on a three-album rare tracks release. The band’s web site is www.ninedaysmusic.com.

Marcy Playground consists of John Wozniak (lead vocals and guitar), Dylan Keefe (bass) and Shlomi Lavie (drums). Their self-titled debut album included the hit songSex and Candy” which spent a then-record 15 at number one on the Billboard Modern Rock chart (beating Oasis’ 10-week run with “Wonderwall”) and peaked at number eight on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Other released songs include “Saint Joe on the School Bus” and “Sherry Fraser.” The band’s songs have been on soundtracks for “Cruel Intentions,” “Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back” and “Zack and Miri Make a Porno.” The band released a new album last month titled “Leaving Wonderland…in a fit of rage.” Marcy Playground’s website is www.marcyplayground.com.
