A higher-than-expected volume of ticket orders kept Las Vegas Motor Speedway’s ticket office working at high speed Monday as tickets went on sale for the 2010 NASCAR Weekend.

“We had a very busy and successful on-sale day,” said Chris Powell, LVMS general manager. “Race fans obviously want to take advantage of our new, lower pricing structure. There’s no question that fans are looking for bargains, and they’re proving it yesterday and today by the purchases they’ve made.”

Powell said the Neon Garage also remains popular.
“In addition to lower ticket prices, we have made the Neon Garage more affordable as well,” Powell said. “Fans love to have access to the drivers and the cars, and the Neon Garage gives them that access.”

LVMS also processed a strong number of renewals from last year’s event.
“The tremendous number of ticket sales and renewals are direct results of the appeal of our facility and our great city,” Powell said. “The new $49 ticket has also sparked interest from many new fans as well. With local hotels offering more bargains than ever and the lower ticket prices, there has never been a better time for race fans to come to Las Vegas for the NASCAR Weekend.

LVMS is using the weekend of Feb. 26-28 as the “working dates” for the 2010 NASCAR Weekend. These dates are pending the signing of sanctioning agreements with NASCAR.
