There was a memo from USCIS for in-time receipt compliance for I-485 ( along with other forms) for 8/1 supposedly for June filers.
As I understand it, not all June filers got receipt yet. So obviously USCIS can start looking at July filers only after 8/1 or later.
Another recent memo says on in-time receipt compliance for I-485 to be 10/24. I am guessing it was meant for July/Aug filers.
So between 8/1 and 10/24, we are suposed receive the receipts from USCIS. To me, earliest we should talk about cashing the checks sometime is first week of Aug.
Does it make any sense ?

Do not worry about it. As long as you keep your job, you are fine. I've been thru the same situation, did not do anything special and got my GC.

Your stay status will be Parolee but your work status will be H1 so YES, you will be fine even if you used AP for re-entry.
PS : I am not a lawyer but I entered using AP and have H1 as my working permit.

If I go for appointment and they put case under PIMS review as I just got ext approval last months. Will they take passport with them ? if Not can I travel with passport and ask to close case of stamping ?

From the link, it appears that the talk here is about filing I-485 even when priority date is not current. That's different from before. Having said that, we'll see when it happens and if anything happens.

What does AC-21 have to do with verifying out of status? Can you give more details on how AC-21 affected his I-485?

Every employment based I-485 applicant has to show (read: prove) that he/she is maintaining valid non-immigrant status prior to filing of I-485 application since last entry into USA. The out of status days must be less than 180 days.
For valid H1 status, the LCA location dictates the job location. The job location must be 50 miles (I need to check on this) with in LCA location.
In this case, a person was working in area B but his LC (for green card) was area A. He claimed AC-21 (AC-21 allows person to work on different location for future GC job). His I-485 denied and he filed appeal.
In appeal it was found out that he is eligible for AC-21. However it was also found that at the filing of I-485 he was working in area B whereas his H1B LCA indicated area A, so he was out of H1 status (for more than 180 days) at the time of I-485 application. So his I-485 application was denied.

I moved last week but told my roommate to accept this mail that I was expecting from Immigration.
I guess she removed my name from the mail box.
Today I went online to check the status on my EAD and the status says the card we returned as undelivered and they asked me to call customer service to update address.
I'm planning to go online and get my address changed .
Should I also call them to inform about the address change?
Is there any other way I can get my EAD card rather than wait till I update my address?
Can I change my address over the weekend? If I have to call them after changing the address online will the customer service be available over the weekend ?

As I know I could not use experience at my current employer (Company A) to fill EB2, can I find a consulting company (Company B) who willing to sponsor my EB2, while still work for Company A (through Company B)?

Yes. You can find a company B and ask them to process your case in EB2. Remember, GC is for future employment not current. So you can work for company A whereas your processing under EB2 thru company B can go ahead. However, you will need to join company B at some point in time. This is what my company B told me. There is a bill pending in the House which was introduced by Rep. Zoe Lofgren of California which is similar to this new Senate bill which was introduced yesterday by Sen. Barbara Boxer of California. The House bill is H.R. 6039 and the Senate bill is S. 3084. Both of these bills propose to exempt U.S. advanced degree holders working for the U.S. employers from the numerical limit in the employment based immigration. The full text of the House bill is posted on May 11, 2008.

Last week I had the unfortunate experience of being "let go". This is my current situation:
EB-2 India PD July 2008
I-140 approved in April 2009
Currently on 7th year of my H1-B which is valid till May 2013.
Now the question I have is, if I were to transfer my H1-B visa to some other company (non consulting fulltime role), will I get an additional 3 years extension, i.e., till Oct 2013 or will it be only till May 2013?
Greatly appreciate any thoughts here. Thanks!

If I read your profile right, you arrived in US in April 2005 flied for LC in July 07. I think that is a different situation than someone working in H1B since 1999 (F1 since 1996). Do you know anyone in H1B since 1999 and without an EAD option? I suppose waiting 14 years is very different than waiting 5 years..

I am a july filer too.. but neither me nor my wife ever received FP notices... not even the first time.
My lawyer and myself contacted USCIS several times over the phone and each time they opened a case for review and replied saying they'll contact me if they need anything.
Anyone else in the same situation as mine?

I did use my experience in my current company for my I 140 and my I 140 has been approved. I had 2 years of exp prior to joining my company and my LC was for 4 years exp, so I used 2 years of exp from my current company. From your priority date it looks like you have applied using RIR or traditional. I think it is true for PERM that you cannot use the experience of your current company but for RIR or Traditional you can.
So your lawyer is right in saying that you can use your exp with your current company.
