He deserved to party hard because after the way he battled his way to win the NASCAR Spring Cup Shelby 427 ...well it was time for him to blow off steam! (His car had engine trouble, he had to take the field from back position after having an engine change (NASCAR rules.) And when he did his thick burnout spins on the grass his engine blew!!
