The Time Is Now to Save the Homeless Dogs of Tomorrow
Las Vegas - Everyday the media announces more and more anticipated layoffs, additional housing foreclosures, and charities in need. Well today I am asking you to help save a charity that unfortunately is negatively impacted every time a pet owner looses their job and/or home and is dealt the card of having to give up their beloved pet. Adopt A Rescue Pet (ARP) is one of Nevada’s largest animal rescue organizations sterilizing and re-homing pets for over 10 years and now it too has become a charity in dire need of public support so it can continue to support the numerous dogs turned into them by the public for rescue in lieu of death at a pound facility.
Adopt A Rescue Pet is now facing a crisis of its own. In less than 45 days the organization must raise $70,000 to payoff the pending balloon payment for the 5 acre dog sanctuary & retirement ranch they have under construction in Amargosa Valley, Nevada. The property has been privately carried by the sellers for 3 years, and originally the founder of Adopt A Rescue Pet had secured funding for the payment, but the economic meltdown has wiped out the principals who had planned on covering the note. In Sept. 2010, Adopt A Rescue Pet was assured funding by a private foundation grant, however, this year started off with the funding group going defunct leaving Adopt A Rescue Pet scrambling for a third time to find a source for $70,000.00. “Two years ago, we were stressing on how to house the animals that were being returned to us because of home loss, now we are stressing on how to retain our house for the housing of the animals we committed to,” says Elizabeth, Founder of ARP.
The payment is large, but if every pet owner in Nevada donated a $1 the funds would be easily met. If 7,000 people donated $10 the payment would be met, if 700 donations of $100 were made the payment would be met. “It is do-able, just in today’s economy asking for money is tough. People pan handling receive more in a day than some charity groups doing good receive in a week.” The saying “every penny adds up” is a virtue charity groups survive on – every person who shares our urgent need is one more step towards the animals next true rescue.
Donations can be made via credit card on the ARP website www.adoptarescuepet.org Deposited directly into the Adopt A Rescue Pet – Sanctuary Account at Nevada State Bank (provide account #102013604), or mailed to Adopt A Rescue Pet, 1500 E. Tropicana, Ste 105, Las Vegas, Nevada 89119.
Adopt A Rescue Pet, founded in 2000, is a non profit charitable animal welfare organization in southern Nevada. ARP has rescued and placed 13,000+ animals into new homes. Pets in the program are sterilized, vaccinated and microchip under the scrutiny of private veterinarians; $68,000 is needed to finalize the land purchase of the groups 5 acre sanctuary/retirement ranch for dogs in Amargosa Valley, NV. Adoptions are held every weekend at the “Best of the West” Petsmart (Rainbow/Lake Mead) or visit www.adoptarescuepet.org or email arpinfo@adoptarescuepet.org or call (702)798-8663. FED EIN# 88-0487028
