The band that was to become Blue Öyster Cult (BÖC) originated in 1967 while its members, at the behest of music critic and future manager Sandy Pearlman, were attending college in Long Island, N.Y. After undergoing several name changes and a new vocalist, the band settled on Blue Öyster Cult in 1971 and Pearlman got them signed to Columbia Records.
Throughout the tenure of BÖC’s career, it has continuously toured and released albums, including the 2007 re-mastered editions of the albums Spectres and Some Enchanted Evening.
