Talented Media Need Apply! Charity Benefit!

Take a trip back to the’80s with the 12th Annual Advertising Community Talent Show
Applications for participation are now available online, auditions are not required.

The 12th annual Advertising Community Talent Show (A.C.T.S.) returns to Las Vegas Friday, September 25, 2009, to raise money for Safe Nest. The event will take place at Ovation at Green Valley Ranch from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.

This year’s theme, I Love the ’80s, is aimed at bringing back the side pony-tail and the Michael Jackson moonwalk. All acts consist of the Southern Nevada advertising and media community, age 21 and older. The talent show is a way for members of the media to show off their fun side – comedic performances are encouraged but not required!

Each year, A.C.T.S. raises money for Safe Nest, a non-profit organization geared toward the prevention and elimination of domestic violence. The purpose of A.C.T.S. is to help give back to the women and children of Clark County who are affected daily by violence. This year, A.C.T.S. has set a fundraising goal of $25,000 to purchase items for Safe Nest. In past years, items such as computers and playgrounds for the children have been purchased with the money raised.

“The talent show is a fun and entertaining way to raise money for such an important cause,” says DeAnne Sheehan, founder of A.C.T.S.

The talent portion of the show is non-competitive and participation does not require an audition. Applicants simply fill out a form of submission which can be found on the Web site.
