About Emergency Arts; Emergency Arts is a creative collective housed in a former medical building at the corner of Sixth and Fremont streets across from the El Cortez. The venue houses 18 tenants, including artists, musicians, a cafe, an arts magazine, a bike co-op, a cafe, a Green Party gubernatorial candidate and the Burlesque Hall of Fame.
About The Beat Coffeehouse: The only independently owned coffeehouse and bar in downtown Las Vegas, opened in May 2010. Located inside the Emergency Arts building, the coffeehouse serves espresso drinks and food.
About The Las Vegas Poets Organization: The Las Vegas Poets Organization is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the art of poetry in Las Vegas. In April 2011, the organization will be launching a one week multi-venue poetry festival that will benefit various non-profits and charities.
