20th Annual AIDS walk a SMASHING Success!! Pics!





Aid for AIDS of Nevada (AFAN) hosted the 20th Annual AIDS Walk Las Vegas at the World Market Center Sunday, April 25. The famous duo, Penn & Teller served as Grand Marshals and hosted the Penn & Teller Challenge as their AIDS Walk team, which drew in about 1,000 participants (of the 8,500 total walkers) and so far has raised $88,000, all of which Penn & Teller will match. As AFAN’s largest fundraiser of the year, proceeds will go towards assisting and educating more than 3,000 men, women and children infected with HIV and AIDS in Southern Nevada. Total money raised for this year is still being processed at this time.

At this year’s AIDS Walk, AFAN announced details regarding AFAN’s Annual Black & White Party, which takes place at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on Saturday, Aug. 21, 2010. To celebrate the news, multiple beach balls with event information were thrown into the crowd. The event featured entertainment by DJ Axis, as well as special performances by: Doriana Sanchez, director and choreographer of CHER at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace; Josh Strickland of PEEPSHOW who sang Michael Bolton’s “Go the Distance”; On with the Show, Las Vegas’ one and only glee club that performed the National Anthem, RENT’s hit song, “Seasons of Love” and a unique rendition of Cyndi Lauper’s “True Colors”; the beautiful ladies of Crazy Horse show inside MGM Grand; and co-host and KLAS Ch. 8 anchor/reporter Chris Saldana.
